This international consortium for civic education aims to strengthen effective education for informed and responsible citizenship in new and established democracies around the world. The CIVITAS consortium is composed of individuals, non-governmental associations and governmental institutions from many countries as well as international organisations.

The goal of the IPP (Institute for Political Participation) is to encourage political and social participation of a broad public on local, national and international level and to promote active and democratic citizenship. The institute tries to strengthen citizens' capacity to take part in political and social decision-making process, paying special attention to civil society and underrepresented groups.

The Mershon Center is a multidisciplinary organisation concerned with research and education on citizenship and national security. Moreover, it sponsors research on national security, construed broadly to include such problems as democratisation, economic development, political culture and conflict prevention and resolution.
Experts
Experts in civic education research, curriculum development, teacher trainings, textbook writing from the European Union, Central and Eastern European countries are involved in different phases of the project realisation.
